On 1 October 2025, Luxat hosted“Implementing Plan A: Wealth Management and Blockchain”, a private event dedicated to exploring the realimpact of blockchain technology and tokenisation on wealth management, privatebanking, and asset servicing.
The event took place at Melusinain Luxembourg and gathered industry experts and professionals eager to movebeyond the hype surrounding cryptocurrencies.
The discussion focused on howblockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) are transforming not onlydigital assets, but also the issuance, transfer, and management of traditionalfinancial instruments. Panelists explored the growing role of tokenisation instreamlining settlement processes, enhancing security, and improvingoperational efficiency across the financial ecosystem.
The panel featured VeronicaMartinez, Independent Director and Start-up Advisor; Thilo Derenbach,Head of Sales & Business Development Digital Securities Services atClearstream; and Kevin Riou, Senior Manager Institutional Business Developmentat Swissquote Bank. The discussion was moderated by Jim Kent.
Speakers agreed that blockchain isno longer a theoretical concept, but a practical solution addressing realindustry pain points—particularly in the areas of security, tokenisation, andoperational efficiency. Beyond improving liquidity in private markets, thepanel highlighted the long-term potential of blockchain to disrupt interbanksettlements and capital flows once fully adopted by financial institutions andcentral banks.
The discussion also addressed thelegal, regulatory, and operational challenges that still need to be overcome,while highlighting Luxembourg’s unique position. Thanks to its strongregulatory framework and leading fund service providers, Luxembourg is wellplaced to play a central role in the future of digital securities and tokenisedassets.
The event concluded with a clearmessage shared by all speakers: organizations must adapt now or risk being leftbehind as blockchain adoption accelerates across the financial industry.
